New Servers Installed

Hello all,

We have been upgraded! Our new servers are even faster, more secure, and more stable then before. We can now claim 99.999% uptime, which means only about 26 seconds of potential downtime per month. Most hosts guarantee only 99.9% uptime. May not sound like much of a difference, but 99.9% uptime equates to a downtime of 43 minutes and 12 seconds (based on 30 days). A lot of potential customers can miss your site in that amount of time.

Our Tier III facility has always had certain redundancy, cooling, raised floor high etc. however, as for watts or floor loading for example we have more then most Tier IVs. Redundancy with the 4 carrier has been added. Also a second Cisco switch with spanning-tree and a second power grid, breaker, feed and PDU.

Whew, I think I got all that correct from the chat I had with our server owner. His name is Rob Muller and I'm proud to be one of his customers at Host Planet. Rob puts the utmost importance on redundancy and server reliability. Some of his clients include the F.B.I. and the U.S. Military. Downtime is NOT an option.
